On this page

Starsea Voyage is the part of Petit Planet that turns a cozy planet into a small galaxy. It is where new neighbors are found, rare fish and bugs live and some of the best furniture and materials are hidden. It is also the easiest system to waste currency on if you leave without a plan.

Unlocking the voyage

Starsea Voyage unlocks after the Memo Task chain. Talk to Elsasani at the Station to depart. Before your first trip, make sure you have:

  • One Lumia Battery for the vehicle.
  • At least one Star Anchor for an islet landing.
  • Two free inventory slots.
  • A neighbor or two selected for support.

You can bring up to two neighbors. Each has voyage specialties; a neighbor who is an expert at bug-catching will help more on a bug islet than a neighbor who is only an enthusiast. The neighbor list shows each character’s specialties.

Star Anchors and Lumia Batteries

Star Anchors are the real travel currency. You spend one per islet landing, and Loomix Mart sells a limited daily supply. The price rises with additional purchases, so buy only what you need.

Lumia Batteries power the vehicle. The battery pack can be upgraded through Loomix Vehicle Services, adding cells for longer voyages. A Lumia Booster adds acceleration charges, which are a comfort upgrade rather than a hard requirement.

Do not spend all your Loomi on cosmetics if you are still using the starter battery. A single extra cell can turn a frustrating trip into a productive one.

Zones: where the voyage starts

Your starting zone depends on your galaxy:

  • Hexia: Hexia Zone H83.
  • Taffeh: Taffeh Zone T31.

From there, you can unlock the other starting galaxy’s zone by visiting a Starmigo who has settled there, or by transferring zones during a voyage. Seasonal zones are tied to events but remain available after the event ends; their limited-time neighbor encounters do not.

The galaxy hub explains the four regions and their neighbor pools.

The four islet types

Islets are instanced zones with a theme. Most fall into one of four categories:

TypeWhat you doWhat you get
Creature isletCatch a concentrated pool of fish, bugs or shore-dwellersRare catches, Omnidex progress, sellable duplicates
Item isletGather materials, seeds and boxesTree Sap, furniture, seeds, crafting materials
Puzzle isletSolve an environmental puzzleBonus chests and extra rewards
Encounter isletMeet a neighborBond progress and a future invitation

Every islet also has one to three Wandering Stars and a Common Travel Surprise Box with Tree Sap. A Precious Travel Surprise Box is rare and can contain Inspo Cards or furniture.

How to plan a voyage

A good route has one primary goal and one backup goal. Do not try to do everything in one trip.

  1. Check the Loomix Mart. Buy anchors only if you have a destination in mind.
  2. Pick a goal. A specific fish, a neighbor, a material or a puzzle.
  3. Pick two neighbors. Match their specialties to the goal.
  4. Land on the goal islet first. RNG is RNG; do not save the important stop for last.
  5. Clear the surprise box. Tree Sap and Wandering Stars are always worth picking up.
  6. Leave one anchor in reserve. A second encounter is more valuable than a random islet.

Encounter islets and neighbor recruiting

Encounter islets are the only way to meet invite neighbors. They can spawn at the start of a voyage or during one, and they despawn after you leave. If you meet a neighbor you want:

  • Finish the meeting before leaving.
  • Note the neighbor’s name; the second encounter can happen on any islet.
  • Save an anchor for a return trip.
  • Check your Neighbor Capacity before starting the visit quest.

The neighbor unlock guide explains the full Bond Lv. 1 → 2 → 3 sequence.

Vehicle upgrades

Loomix Vehicle Services upgrades:

  • Battery pack: more cells for longer voyages.
  • Lumia Booster: more acceleration charges.
  • Paint jobs: cosmetic colors.

Battery capacity is the priority. Booster charges are useful for dodging obstacles and reaching distant islets, but a bigger battery is the difference between a complete route and a return trip.

What to bring home

Prioritize:

  • Tree Sap: used for neighbor house upgrades.
  • Seeds: new crops for cooking and gifting.
  • Islet Lucadrops: vehicle upgrades and paint.
  • Rare creatures: Omnidex and Gallery displays.
  • Furniture boxes: unique pieces for Homi Decor.

Do not fill your inventory with common bugs and fish you can catch at home. Leave room for the things only the islets provide.

A first-voyage checklist

  • Complete the Memo Tasks.
  • Buy at least five Star Anchors if you can afford them.
  • Upgrade the battery pack once.
  • Select two neighbors with matching specialties.
  • Clear inventory space.
  • Land on one creature islet and one item islet.
  • Check for an encounter islet before returning.
  • Sell duplicates, keep the first catch.

Common voyage mistakes

Landing without a goal. Random islets feel productive but rarely are.

Forgetting the surprise box. It is free Tree Sap and sometimes furniture.

Selling rare catches immediately. Keep one for the Omnidex and Gallery.

Ignoring neighbor capacity. Meeting a neighbor is not the same as being able to invite them.

Spending every anchor. The second encounter is the one that unlocks the visit.

The Starsea is meant to be explored slowly. One good route per day, with a clear goal, will fill the Omnidex faster than a dozen unfocused trips.

Field notes

Frequently asked questions

How do you unlock Starsea Voyage?

Complete the Memo Task chain and talk to Elsasani at the Station. You also need a Lumia Battery for the vehicle and Star Anchors for islet landings.

What are Star Anchors used for?

Each islet landing consumes a Star Anchor. They are sold at Loomix Mart in limited daily quantities and rise in price with additional purchases.

How many neighbors can join a voyage?

You can select up to two neighbors. Each has tasks they excel at, are good at, or are not strong at.

What is an encounter islet?

An encounter islet hosts a neighbor. It can spawn randomly, and it despawns after you leave. Meeting the neighbor once unlocks them at Bond Lv. 1; a second meeting is needed before they can visit.

Can you return to an islet?

Yes. Once an islet has been explored, its name and type are revealed and you can return later, provided you have another Star Anchor. Encounter islets are the exception; they despawn.
