Petit Planet does not have combat, so a “tier list” is not about damage. The useful question is: which neighbor makes your daily routine easier? This ranking weighs Bond talents, Starsea Voyage specialties and the amount of busywork a neighbor removes. It is editorial, beta-based and deliberately practical.

How to read this: S-tier neighbors solve a recurring chore or bring an expert voyage specialty. A-tier neighbors are strong but narrower. B and C tiers are not bad characters; they simply have fewer confirmed utility perks in the beta data.

S-tier: the daily-life problem solvers

Yunguo

Yunguo is the easiest S-tier recommendation. Watering crops is a daily chore, and she does it for you at Bond Lv. 5. At Lv. 8 she sets up a Crop Garden, which turns her from a helper into a small farming system.

Her Harvesting Expert specialty also makes her a strong voyage companion on gathering islets. If you only invite one neighbor, invite Yunguo.

Tika

Tika clears Wildgrass at Bond Lv. 4. That sounds small until you have a large farm and no patience for weeds. She also has Beachcombing Expert and Harvest Expert, plus Fishing and Bug-Catching enthusiast specialties, making her useful on several islet types.

She is a strong second invite for anyone who wants a tidy planet.

Rebella

Rebella is the mining neighbor. Her Lucky Lodes talent unlocks stone guessing at Lv. 4, and her Mining Expert specialty is one of the best voyage traits. She also has Beachcombing and Fishing enthusiast specialties, so she is rarely a dead pick.

If you spend time at ore deposits, she pays for herself quickly.

Msafiri

Msafiri brings two expert specialties — Fishing and Woodcutting — plus a Special Co-op Expedition at Bond Lv. 5. He is the most flexible gathering companion in the current data.

His only downside is that his bond talents are more situational than Yunguo’s watering. Still, two expert specialties are hard to ignore.

A-tier: strong, but narrower

Isaki is the bug neighbor: Bug-Catching Expert and Epic Beetle Brawl. If you are completing the insect Omnidex, he is S-tier for that goal.

Heyu has a Harvest Expert specialty and five voyage roles, making him a versatile companion even without a listed Bond talent.

Dorjelang is a Woodcutting Expert with a daily Hat Box and hat crafting at higher bond levels. The hats are cosmetic, but the woodcutting utility is real.

Manna has Mining and Woodcutting Expert specialties, which is excellent for gathering, but no Bond talent in the beta data.

Harpeno is a Bug-Catching Expert with a traffic quiz talent. Useful, but less universally applicable than the S-tier picks.

B-tier: useful but limited

Medowlyn has three enthusiast-level voyage specialties and a plushie exchange at Bond Lv. 2. The exchange is charming, but it does not remove a daily chore.

She is a good pick if you like plushies or need a flexible companion, not a priority for pure utility.

C-tier: waiting for more data

Frostia and Nerina have no Bond talent or voyage specialty listed in the current English data. That does not mean they are bad characters; it means the beta did not give us enough mechanical information to rank them higher.

If their kits expand at launch, they could move up. For now, invite them for the story or the aesthetic.

Who should you invite first?

A practical order for a new player:

  1. Yunguo — watering and Crop Garden.
  2. Tika — wildgrass clearing and two expert specialties.
  3. Rebella — mining and stone guessing.
  4. Msafiri — fishing/woodcutting expert and expeditions.
  5. Isaki — bug collection.
  6. Everyone else, based on preference.

If you are not farming or mining yet, reverse the order to match your current loop. A utility neighbor you never use is just a house guest.

What the tier list does not measure

  • Story quality. The base cast and the invite neighbors are written as characters, not tools.
  • Aesthetics. A house, outfit or quote can matter more than a talent.
  • Rarity. Every invite neighbor is recruitable; none is gacha-locked.
  • Future balance. Launch can change levels, talents and specialties.

Use the ranking as a planning aid, not a rule. The best neighbor is the one who makes you want to log in tomorrow.

For gifts, birthdays and full profiles, open the neighbor directory. For the fastest bond progress, use the gift guide.

A note on spoilers & updates: This page is written for the global version of Petit Planet and may include pre-launch and beta details. Game systems can change before the Winter 2026 release. Facts are checked against the official site and the community-maintainedPetit Planet Wiki.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Petit Planet tier list?

There is no official tier list. This is an editorial ranking based on the Final Beta neighbor talents, Starsea Voyage specialties and daily convenience. It is not a measure of story quality or design.

Who is the best neighbor in Petit Planet?

Yunguo is the strongest general-purpose pick because she waters crops at Bond Lv. 5 and builds a Crop Garden at Lv. 8. Tika, Rebella and Msafiri are close behind for wildgrass clearing, mining and expeditions.

Who should you invite first?

Invite Yunguo if you farm, Tika if wildgrass annoys you, Rebella if you mine and Msafiri if you want co-op expeditions. If you do not care about utility, invite the character you like.

Does the tier list include base neighbors?

No. Mobai, Elsasani, Glenn, Mors and Trixie are base neighbors with no Bond or gifting system, so they are not ranked against invite neighbors.

Will the tier list change at launch?

It may. Launch balance, new talents and changed Bond levels can shift the rankings. This page is based on Final Beta data and will be updated when the game goes live.
