Home decorating is where Petit Planet slows down. There is no scoreboard, no time limit and no wrong color palette. There is, however, a House Rating gate, a neighbor-house system and a very large furniture catalog, so a little planning saves a lot of Dough.
Start with the House Rating, not the paint
Your house can be upgraded through Loomix Homes, accessed by talking to Mobai. The upgrade tiers are:
| House | Cost | Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| Small Cottage | 1,200 Dough | — |
| Charming Cottage | 5,000 Dough | House Rating 350 |
| Bright Cottage | 50,000 Dough | — |
| Cozy Villa | 150,000 Dough | — |
House Rating comes from the furniture you place. High-score pieces are more efficient than many low-score pieces. If you are short of the 350 threshold, replace cheap decorations with a few high-score items rather than filling every tile.
The furniture catalog has a home score column and filters. Search for your current style, then sort mentally by score.
Pick a palette before you shop
The catalog has color, material and style fields. A coherent room is easier to build if you choose two neutral colors and one accent:
- Cream, brown and sage for a woodland cottage.
- White, blue and lavender for a Starlight study.
- Butter, peach and cocoa for a warm kitchen.
- Black, white and one bright color for a modern studio.
Once the palette is set, every purchase has a test: does it fit the room? If not, it can wait. This is also how you avoid buying a rare item that clashes with everything you own.
Furniture sources
- DIY Bench: crafted furniture, often the cheapest source of set pieces.
- Glenn’s Goods: daily rotating stock, good for basics and costumes.
- Loomix Mart: permanent and daily furniture, plus travel supplies.
- Giftarium: Omni-Voucher exchanges for unique items and display stands.
- Memo Tasks and MomentFolio: one-off rewards.
- Events: limited sets; check before selling duplicates.
Do not sell unique set pieces. A Homi Decor wish may require a specific item from a neighbor’s set, and reacquiring it can take days or an event rerun.
Homi Decor: decorating for neighbors
Homi Decor unlocks at Bond Lv. 6 with a settled invite neighbor. It has two phases:
- Basic: everyday furniture such as kitchen appliances, lighting and decorations.
- Wish: specific items from the neighbor’s set, available after a short wait.
Completing a set awards Dough and Bond Boost items. The rewards are useful, but the real value is the friendship progress and the excuse to visit a neighbor’s house.
Homi Decor is also a furniture sink. Keep a small stock of common kitchen, lighting and decoration items so you can complete a Basic request without a shopping trip.
Wallpaper, flooring and small changes
Changing wallpaper and flooring is cheaper than replacing all the furniture. It can make a room feel new without touching the layout. Use it when you are bored of a style but do not want to spend on a new set.
Lighting is the other high-impact, low-cost change. A warm lamp can transform a room more than a new sofa. Keep one or two spare lighting items in storage.
A room-by-room plan
Entryway: a rug, a small table, a lamp and one piece of wall art. This is the first room visitors see; make it readable.
Kitchen: cooking counter, storage, a warm light and a few plants. Keep the palette simple because appliances are bulky.
Bedroom: the highest-score bed you can afford, two bedside tables and soft lighting. This is usually the best place to push House Rating.
Study: desk, bookshelf, a chair and a window. Frostia likes desks and bookshelves, so this room doubles as a gift-shopping reference.
Outdoor nook: a bench, flowers and a path. Outdoor furniture still contributes to the cozy feel even if it does not count toward the indoor rating.
Common decorating mistakes
Buying before measuring. Check the furniture size field; a 2.0 × 2.0 rug will not fit a 1.0 × 1.0 corner.
Filling every tile. Negative space is part of the design. A few good pieces look better than a crowded room.
Ignoring the score. If your goal is the Charming Cottage, pretty low-score items will not get you there.
Selling set pieces. Homi Decor wishes are specific. Keep one of each unique item.
Skipping wallpaper. It is the cheapest way to change a room’s mood.
What to do first
- Reach a comfortable furniture score for your current house.
- Pick a two-neutral, one-accent palette.
- Upgrade the house when you meet the rating.
- Stock common Homi Decor basics.
- Decorate a neighbor’s house at Bond Lv. 6.
- Only then chase rare event sets.
A cozy home is not the one with the most items. It is the one where the light, the colors and the little collections feel like they belong to the person who lives there. Start small, keep the palette tight and let the rooms grow with the story.
A note on spoilers & updates: This page is written for the global version of Petit Planet and may include pre-launch and beta details. Game systems can change before the Winter 2026 release. Facts are checked against the official site and the community-maintainedPetit Planet Wiki.
